At Northstar Counseling Center, we believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, respectful, and tailored to you. Our experienced therapists use evidence-based approaches to support individuals, couples, children, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and other mental health concerns.

Our therapists bring experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, helping them navigate concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, ADHD, parenting challenges, grief, trauma, behavioral concerns, and major life transitions. When appropriate, we also collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, schools, attorneys, and other professionals to provide coordinated, comprehensive care.

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step. Our welcoming counseling office in the heart of St. Matthews on Sears Avenue was designed to help children, teens, adults, couples, and families feel at ease from the moment they arrive. We welcome clients of all backgrounds and identities, including people of every race, age, ethnicity, citizenship status, ability, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Family

Families are intricate & unique social systems. Our clinicians are specifically trained to address family issues through providing neutral support to improve communication and resolve conflicts.

In Couples therapy, two people work jointly with a relationally-trained therapist to develop ways to strengthen and improve their connection and bond.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

PCIT is an evidence-based treatment for young children (ages 2-7) with behavioral problems. It places emphasis on changing interaction patterns through play.

Insurance / Payments

Northstar Counseling Center accepts most major insurance plans including: Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, Humana Medicare, Aetna, United and Cigna.

We also welcome private pay and are happy to discuss which option would be best for you.

Hours

Our staff work to schedule appointments during times that are convenient for you. We have morning, afternoon and evening sessions available and are open 6 days a week.
