Riley  Therapy Dog

Riley is an Australian Labradoodle who accompanies her mom and Nurse Practitioner, Beth Truman, to work, bringing joy and cuteness. Riley is an American Kennel Club Certified S.T.A.R. Puppy and continues in intermediate dog training. Riley’s goal is to work toward the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. Riley is hypoallergenic, non shedding, and enjoys seeing everyone! Her main job is to bring joy, cuddles, comfort, and laughter at times. Riley enjoys sleeping on her clients’ feet, hiding under the couch, giving kisses, and getting belly rubs. Riley was born in January 2025, so she is still a puppy and at times has puppy behavior and energy. While she’s working hard in her training, she may at times have extra energy or give nibbles. If a client of Beth’s wishes to not have Riley join, that is never an issue, however is requested that be communicated in advance.

Some benefits Riley can offer include:

  • For most people, the presence of an animal provokes the body to release serotonin, prolactin, and oxytocin. These hormones cause relaxation and a stress-reducing response.
  • Releasing these “happy hormones” also has the possibility of lowering anxiety.
