April is a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate who earned a Bachelor of Arts in French and English for Secondary Education from Franklin College, IN. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville.
April utilizes a systemic framework to help individuals and families understand how their relationships with themselves, family members, friends, partners, and coworkers all interact within societal contexts to create their lived experience. April believes in utilizing a strengths-based perspective to help clients recognize and cultivate their resilience in making healthy changes.
April draws from her previous experience as a high school and middle school teacher, wedding photographer, and yoga teacher in her clinical work. She has also expanded her knowledge through her experiences working in a youth residential facility and substance use disorder clinic.
April utilizes evidence-based practices, while drawing on her creativity to best meet the needs and goals of her clients. She approaches her clinical work with empathy and curiosity, and has experience working with teens, adults, couples, and families facing various challenges such as:

April is trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy and has experience utilizing therapeutic models such as Narrative and Internal Family Systems.
