Danielle is a Marriage & Family Therapist Associate in the state of Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. She worked in the mental health field for a decade at all levels of care including residential, therapeutic foster care, and outpatient settings with adults, couples, children, and families. She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy and a Master of Science of Social Work at the University of Louisville.
As a systemic individual, family and couple therapist, Danielle understands that every person is part of a larger system and has their own story to tell. Her aim is to get to know your story and understand what is working for you, as well as what is no longer serving its purpose the way maybe it once was. Danielle brings empathy, curiosity, and at times humor to the therapeutic process. Danielle believes that people change people and that having a safe space is the foundation for connection, trust, and healing within the therapeutic relationship. Her goal is to collaborate with you to make the long-term changes in your life in order to improve your relationships with others, with yourself, and to help you live authentically.
Danielle assists clients as they face a variety of treatment concerns including, but not limited to:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Trauma
- Sexual assault
- Self-identity/Self-esteem
- LGBTQIA+ relationships
- Divorce/separation
- Infidelity
- Co-parenting
- Blended families
- Foster care
- Interpersonal relationship challenges
- Communication difficulties
- Life transitions
- Childhood behavioral difficulties
- Parent/child relationships
Danielle understands how challenging it can be to face these difficulties alone and is able to use her education, experience, and empathy to provide a shared journey towards improvement. Danielle utilizes a variety of evidenced-based models and client-centered techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based, narrative, emotionally-focused/attachment, as well as play, music, and art techniques. She does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, but rather works flexibly to meet a client where they are, understanding how the people we surround ourselves with, our backgrounds, cultures, and environment all work to shape our story.
