This will be a brief post. Sometimes the holidays feels like it’s “all the things – all at once” and overwhelming at times. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed this or not, but there are SO many choices and therefore decisions to make, so I want to offer a simple gift to you this holiday season to bring you a respite.
Let’s play fill-in-the-blank, “The holidays are _____________” (fill in the blank with any words that speak to your truth, such as “busy, hard, fun, sad, exhilarating, confusing, lonely”; whatever works for you and add in more than one too).
Now that you’ve identified your reality, just stop and continue to take this moment for yourself. Take a breath. Take a deep breath through your nose, filling your belly expand and choose to slowly exhale it with an open mouth (add a sigh if it feels good) or through your nose. And pause. Now do it again, do it as many times as you need to feel a little more centered and calm. Please give yourself this gift as needed.
You are enough. You are doing your best.
